An albatross can have a 3m wingspan!
Our friend Donny has been sharing stories and poems with us in Rimu class this term. He has managed to find some fantastic texts to share based around our class inquiry unit of The Ocean. On Thursday he bought us a book about the albatross, and even measured out the 3m to show us how big their wing span can get to. So much great learning for us, thank you Donny.
Week two award winners
Congratulations to this week's deserving award winners from Rimu class, Niko, Benjamin and Lilly. Getting to celebrate continued effort, great attitudes and achievements is one of my favourite parts of teaching. Tino Pai tamariki!

Ki o rahi with Whaea Gina
The tamariki are getting much more confident with our Ki o rahi game this term. Whaea Gina does a great job of ensuring we all get to participate and learn. Today we decided it would be best to remove our shoes and play barefoot due to a little mud on the field.

Donny reading for Rimu class
One of our senior students has been coming to read to us each day after our phonics lesson. It's great to be able to share our reading with a variety of people in a variety of ways and the tamariki have been enjoying having Donny read to us as much as he has enjoyed doing the reading too!
